My history teacher spent a whole two days teaching us about the holocaust because he felt it was important to understand. The first day he went over what led up to it and the second day he laid out about a hundred pictures taken during and after. They were all very sad. The dead bodies, the way their skeletons were completely visible… it was horrible, heart-wrenching, and one of the most disgusting things I can possibly imagine. It wasn’t those pictures that really got me though. It was the ones where one of the prisoners looked into the camera, realized someone was taking a picture. The look on their face, it was heart breaking, it was a look that said “Why would you photograph this? Why would you stand there and take a picture while we suffer? How can you see this and not lift a finger to help?”

To me, that was the saddest part of the day.

Do you ever feel like you’re being watched?

Well that’s called the spotlight effect. Almost all people feel as though all eyes are on them, when in reality most people are to absorbed in themselves to worry about what anyone else is doing. So just be yourself

Those teachers probably know how to use a gun… I would be MORE terrified to go to school if my teachers had guns.
